Who can sign up for Premium Web Hosting? Anyone that would like to make a presence on the internet. You can be a webmaster, a corporate, and small to medium business, societies, and organizations. [top] What does 'web hosting' mean? All web sites must reside on a host computer, (also called the web server). This host computer is connected to the internet around the clock and allows users to view your web site by simply typing in your web address (domain name). [top] What type of sites do you host? We host almost every kind of legal sites from personal to big companies. We basically do not host illegal sites like sites containing and related to warez, cracks, nudity, pornography, illegal mp3s, hacking, anti-government and so on. [top] How much space will be allocated to me for premium web hosting? This depends on the package you opt for. Premium Hosting I comes with 120MB of disk space where 60MB is for hosting your web pages and another 60MB is for your e-mail. The same goes for Premium Hosting II where half is divided for web hosting and another half for e-mail. [top] Will that be enough space for me? The amount of space required is dependant on the size and complexity of the web site. A site containing large graphics and numerous pages will take up more space than a simple text-only page. The amount of space provided should be sufficient enough. Premium Hosting I can take up to approximately 2,600 web pages and Premium Hosting II as much as 5,200 web pages. Half of the same amount is allocated for storing your e-mail. Should you require more than the allocated space, you can purchase additional space. [top] What are hits and transfers? Every time a user views your web site, it is considered one hit. Transfer refers to the amount of data transferred to the user's computer. [top] Is there a limit to the amount of hits and transfers? Webcentralx.com will not limit the amount of hits and transfers for your site but WEBcentralx.com deserves the right to limit the bandwidth whenever necessary. [top] Do I have to pay for Domain Name Registration? No. Our hosting packages come bundled together with domain name registration fees for a .com, .net or .org domain. However if you are interested in obtaining other domain name extensions, you will need to pay extra. [top] Can I register more than one domain name for just one hosting account? You may do so. You can point you�re the domain name to your site with our easy Domain Management control panel. However only one domain name will receive the unlimited e-mail feature and other hosting benefits. [top] I have an existing domain name, can I just get the premium web hosting service? Yes, you can. [top] What do I have to pay just for the hosting services if I do not wish to get the bundled domain name registration? You will have to pay RM 160/USD 50 for Premium Hosting I and RM 311/USD89 for Premium Hosting II. [top] Can I transfer my existing web site to your web hosting service? Yes of course. Do this by first transferring your registered domain name. [top] What servers are my site hosted on? Your website is hosted on powerful Windows 2000 based Servers. [top] Does Webcentralx.com design pages as well? Yes, we offer web design and development services. Please refer to our services section for additional information. [top] Can I modify my mail exchange (MX) record to point to another provider but retain web hosting? You may do so by logging into your Domain Management page and configure it by changing the mail.yourdomain.com to point to your new mail server. Be aware that by doing so you will not be able to use the e-mail features provided by us like the allocated storage, catch all e-mail, e-mail forwarding and POP3 email access. You can convert the allocated e-mail storage for your web page hosting. [top] Can I access my mails using outlook express? Yes you may do so. Go to the member page and read the instructions. [top] What are your Terms of Services? You�ll be presented with and have to agree to our terms of services agreement upon signing up for premium web hosting with us. A copy of our terms of services agreement can be viewed by clicking here. [top] What hosting service is suitable for me? This depends. If you wish to host a personal site than I would recommend Premium Hosting I. If you are more towards a e-commerce or community site, then Premium Hosting II is your solution. [top] I am not from Malaysia, can you host my site? Of course. Prices for international customers are in US Dollars. [top] Can I reserve a Premium Web Hosting package first? To reserve a premium web hosting package you will just have to register a domain name first and register for web hosting later. [top] Can I cancel my account? You may do so anytime at your wish without additional charges but there will be no refunds. [top] Can I change my domain name later? You cannot change your domain name but can have additional domain names pointing to the same site. [top] How long does it take to activate my account? We promise an activation within at least two working days. There could be a delay due to late payment and late processing by the domain name registars. [top] Are your charges monthly or yearly? Charges for all of our services are yearly (per calendar year). [top] What is FTP? FTP is File Transfer Protocol, an internet protocol used to transfer materials over the Internet. It is very fast, very efficient, and very reliable. [top] What is the first step in setting up a website? The first step is to gain FTP access to your site, and upload the initial file to the proper directory. This initial file is generally named index.html, and it is the web page that will be returned when you call up www.yourdomain.com [top] How do I gain FTP access to my site? [top] How do I set up email accounts with my domain? One account is automatically set up when the domain is set up - yourdomain@yourdomain.com However, you are entitled to additional POP3 email boxes free of charge. Just add them with the easy to use control panel. [top] What about Email Autoresponders? Email autoresponders are very useful in Internet commerce. Essential, an autoresponder is a robot which resides on your site, and does one thing - when it receives an email - from anywhere - with its name on it - it sends its text back to the source of that email. Uses for these little robots are limited only by your imagination. [top] How do I set up an Email Autoresponder? It's a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. First of all create a text file using an HTML editor such as Arachnophilia - do NOT use Notepad or any other word processing program - it will not work! This text file is the text your Autoresponder will return to whoever emails to it. Let's say it's called text.doc. Now, using CuteFTP, upload the file text.doc to your HOME directory. Note, this is NOT the same place you put your html documents. Once the file text.doc is on the remote server in your HOME directory, you must RENAME it so that it does not have an extension. Do this in CuteFTP by going to COMMANDS, then RENAME - rename your text.doc file, simply text Once this is done, any email sent to: text@yourdomain.com, will immediately receive an email back from text@yourdomain.com, and the body of the email will contain the text file. Please note also: make sure you do Not have an actual POP3 email box called text@yourdomain.com - this would create a problem. Autoresponders are unlimited! Use as many of them as you like. [top] What is an email redirect account? These "aliases" are simply lines of code in your HOME directory which "bounce" emails from one email address to another. Let's say you have a webpage and you want people to email you, but you don't want your personal email address to appear on the page. Solution? Use a forwarding email account. Emails sent to Joe@yourdomain.com(the address shown on the webpage) will automatically be forwarded to joe@personal.com [top] Do you allow "adult" sites? NO. [top] Can you help me with my HTML, webpage, CGI programming, etc?
